GelGems® brand window clings are the highest quality of color and thickness, safety tested, designed using cutting edge techniques with today’s hottest trends in mind. But GelGems® are more than a fun, squishy artistic medium; they are a powerful means of expression. Your challenge for this year’s GelGems® Retailer Window Contest is to partner with your favorite local charity to create a GelGems® mural that promotes a cause. Each entry and corresponding charity will be posted and promoted on our website and in the media. Winners will be chosen by online voting.

U.S. and Other (non-UK) Contest  | U.K. Contest

1. Reserve Your Kit by e-mail.

Send an email requesting your GelGems® Window Contest Kit to gelgems@designideas.net. Your email must include your Store Name, Contact Name, Street Address, City, State/Province, Zip/Postal Code and Country. All requests must be received by April 12, 2013. The first 100 customers to email us will receive a FREE GelGems® Window Contest Kit* containing 36 bags of GelGems® to use to decorate their store window!

*Kit recipients will be notified by April 19, 2013. Those not receiving Kits may still participate. GelGems® Window Contest Kits are not for re-sale.

2. Create and Photograph Your Window.

Use the GelGems® in your free kit to create your mural. You may cut, mix, layer, add more GelGems® or other materials, or do whatever else your imagination dreams up to create a work of art that promotes your chosen cause. Afterwards, photograph your masterpiece and send the photo in .jpg format by email to gelgems@designideas.net with the subject heading “WIN GelGems® Window Contest.” Don’t forget to include the name and a description of your selected charity and your store’s name, address and phone. Photos must be received on or before May 31, 2013.

3. Be a Winner!

Window designs will be judged by online voting from June 3-14, 2013 at www.gelgems.com. Rally your community, customers and friends to make your entry the winner! Winners will be announced by June 21, 2013.

The Boring Fine Print (official rules):

1. Eligibility: NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. All GelGems® retailers are qualified to enter the GelGems® Window Contest. Void where restricted or prohibited by law.
   
2. To request a contest kit, email contact name, store name and store address to gelgems@designideas.net. Contest kits will be allotted to one (1) customer per store location. All email requests must be received by April 12, 2013. Any contestant requesting a contest kit after that date will not receive a kit. Entries should be photographed and sent in .jpg format by email to gelgems@designideas.net with the subject heading “WIN GelGems® Window Contest.” Entries must include the name and a description of a selected 501c3 charity, store name, address, and phone number. Photos must be received on or before May 31, 2013. Any entry received after that date will not qualify for a prize. All entries become Sponsor and Administrator’s property and will not be returned. The address provided by each entrant upon entry shall serve as the address of record in respect of all mailings to each entrant, and changes to such address may serve as a basis for disqualification. No responsibility is assumed by Sponsor and Administrator for lost, late, misdirected, illegible, or mutilated entries or for any computer, online, telephone or technical malfunctions that may occur.
   
3. Contest Period: The Contest begins on March 20, 2013  and ends on June 21, 2013 with the announcing of winners.
   
4. Prizes: One Grand Prize during the Contest consisting of free Design Ideas merchandise. In addition, Design Ideas will donate $1,000 U.S. cash to winner’s selected not-for-profit charitable organization, as defined by the federal tax code in either the U.S., Canada, Mexico or the U.K. Estimated retail value of Grand Prize, not including cash donation to charity: $2,000.00 USD. Total retail value of all prizes for the contest period, not including cash donation to charities: $3,500.00 USD. No substitution, transfer, or cash equivalent of prizes by any winner. Sponsor and Administrator at its sole discretion may substitute a prize of equal or greater value. ONE PRIZE PER PERSON.
   
5. Judging and Notification: Judging will be administered via online voting and by the Sponsor and Administrator, whose decisions are final. Prize winners will be notified by phone and/or email within ten (10) days after the judging is completed. If a potential winner cannot be reached at the phone number provided with his/her entry and/or does not respond to the Sponsor and Administrator by the e-mail address provided by Sponsor and Administrator within five (5) days from Sponsor and Administrator’s first attempt to contact him/her or if he/she is found to be ineligible, or if he/she cannot or does not otherwise comply with the Official Rules, then an alternate winner will be selected by the committee. Any prize/prize notification returned as undeliverable may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner.
   
6. General Conditions: All contest entrants agree to abide by the terms of these Official Rules and by the decisions of Sponsor and Administrator which are final on all matters pertaining to the contest. This contest is governed by the laws of the United States. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. All taxes including, but not limited to, sales or income taxes are the sole responsibility of winners. Prize winners will be required to execute (and have notarized) an affidavit of eligibility and a liability and publicity release (the “Affidavit/Release”) which must be returned to and received by Sponsor and Administrator within ten (10) days from the winner’s receipt of the Affidavit/Release. Non-compliance with any of these requirements may result in disqualification, in which case an alternate winner may be chosen. Return of prize, prize notification, or Affidavit/Release as undeliverable will result in disqualification and an alternate winner may be selected. Entry and/or acceptance of prize constitutes permission for the Sponsor and Administrator to use the winner’s name, address (city and state) and/or likeness for advertising and trade purposes without further compensation, worldwide and in perpetuity, in any and all forms of media, now known and hereafter devised, including without limitation online, unless prohibited by law. Any person attempting to defraud or in any way tamper with this contest or who does not comply with these official rules will be ineligible for prizes and may be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. If, for reasons beyond the Sponsor and Administrator’s control (including, but not limited to, tampering or computer virus infection), the contest is not capable of running as originally planned, the Sponsor and Administrator, at its sole discretion, reserves the right to cancel or modify the contest, without liability.
   
7. Limitations of Liability: Contest entities are not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information that may occur in the processing of or submissions in the contest. Contest entities assume no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, or theft, destruction or alteration of, or unauthorized access to, entries. Contest entities shall not be responsible for any problems of technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, e-mail failure, or technical problems on the Internet or on any Web site, including any injury or damage to participant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participation in this contest. Contest entities shall not be liable for any losses or injuries resulting from acceptance, possession and/or use or misuse of prizes or from participation in the contest. If for any reason the contest is not capable of running as planned, including infection, tampering, bugs, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failure or corruption, or any other causes beyond the control of Sponsor and Administrator, Sponsor and Administrator reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the contest.
   
8. Winners List: The names of the prize winners may be obtained on www.gelgems.com, or by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope to: “GelGems® Window Contest Winner’s List”, 2521 Stockyard Road, Springfield, Illinois 62702, U.S.A, until December 1, 2013.
